Candidate Attraction
What is it?
Once, when employers talked about “recruitment advertising”, that’s exactly what they meant. But things have changed. Today, simply placing a well produced job advert is not nearly enough. What you say, and how and where you say it is becoming ever more complex. Candidate Attraction is the art of developing relevant, compelling ways to get the right people in the right roles. These solutions can be deployed across an incredible array of media: job boards and classified pages; search engines; lifestyle sites; broadcast and outdoor; and of course, social media.
Why is it important?
Despite the economic turmoil and high levels of unemployment, hiring great talent remains as difficult as ever. In some areas there are no end of candidates, but finding real talent is more difficult. In other areas (such as IT and Telecommunications) there are acute skill shortages. There is clear evidence to suggest that these trends are set to continue – with many analysts predicting a talent exodus as we move out of recession and employers start hiring again. Far from being over, the war for talent is very much here to stay. An intelligent candidate attraction strategy will give employers the competitive edge and help them win.
How can we help?
With experts across media, digital, creative, and planning functions, we’ll work together to develop and produce a compelling, relevant and powerful attraction campaign – whether it’s for a one-off project or for all of your hiring activity. Our digital team will play a pivotal role, helping to identify and harness the power of the web, and especially search and social media (after all, can you afford to ignore the 23 million UK Facebook users?). But whatever the specific solutions, you’ll benefit from a dedicated account team that understands your needs and works hard to deliver real value.
Some examples
Penna Barkers have been producing successful candidate attraction work since 1815. We were behind many of the iconic WWII recruiting posters, and were even responsible for the recruitment advertisement that ensured Ernest Shackleton had a team for his expedition to the Antarctic. More recently, we’ve won countless awards for our candidate attraction work, including many of the examples contained here.
