Andrew Soane
Sales and Marketing Director
Since joining Austin Knight 22 years ago, Andrew has worked in a variety of account, sales and general management roles at Barkers, MSL Advertising, TMP Worldwide and Bernard Hodes. He rejoined Barkers eight years ago to run the Birmingham office and was subsequently appointed Managing Director for regional operations. Following the acquisition by Penna plc, Andrew became Sales & Marketing Director. Andrew is fascinated by social media and how it personalises the brand experience by letting organisations communicate one-to-one with audiences. He writes a blog at http://andrewsoane.wordpress.com
Anne Riley
Managing Director
In 2005, Anne was asked to start Penna Creative Communications to complement Penna’s existing services. In June 2009 Penna acquired Barkers and TCS. The last year has been spent integrating these businesses and organising several office moves. She now heads up Penna Recruitment and Marketing Communications, incorporating Penna Barkers and TCS. She is also a member of the Penna Executive Board. Anne was formerly MD of Bartlett Merton and UK Chief Executive of Austin Knight. She loves the recruitment marketing industry, is passionate about client service, and enjoys the challenges of a rapidly changing market. Anne also enjoys holidays to her house in SW France, regular theatre visits, lots of tennis and skiing.
Alastair McKenzie
Graduate and Print Communications Director
Alastair’s career has spanned more than 20 years. It started in New Zealand, where he studied Marketing and Advertising at Auckland University of Technology. Moving to London, he specialises in project management, joining Barkers (now Penna Barkers) in 1994. Alastair confidently delivers complex projects, particularly within graduate communications market. This sector has seen him deliver some of our largest and most innovative projects, offline and digital. Examples include Balfour Beatty, CMS Cameron McKenna, HSBC Global Businesses, Microsoft and L’Oréal. Employee engagement and internal communications form another key area of Alastair’s work. He’s delivered projects in this area for employers as diverse as Citi and Tesco.
Mike Burgneay
National Client Service Director
Mike has 20 years’ experience in recruitment marketing and communications. He held senior roles with Austin Knight, Bartlett Merton and Bartlett Scott Edgar before joining Penna Creative Communications as a founder member. In 2009, he became National Client Service Director at Penna Barkers. Mike has worked with a wide range of clients including: Debenhams, BBC, William Hill, Hampshire County Council, RNIB, RNID, Ecolab, Kent Police, MoD, Essex County Council and PwC. He believes we build the most enduring relationships because we work exceptionally close with our clients. Married and with two girls, Mike’s other great loves are fell walking in the Lakes and supporting Crystal Palace.
